We’re getting ready to welcome kids back for another great school year at the Boys & Girls Club of the Hi‑Desert!

Pre‑registration is now open — this lets families express interest in a spot for their child. Please note: pre‑registration does not guarantee enrollment.

During the week of August 4th, we’ll contact families who pre‑register with details on how to officially register and pay to secure their child’s place in the program.

Why We’re Making These Changes

Our goal is simple: provide the best possible experience for kids while staying sustainable for the future. Like many nonprofits, we are navigating limited funding and rising costs.

By reducing group sizes and adjusting fees, we can:

  • Ensure a higher‑quality program with closer staff‑to‑youth ratios

  • Maintain safety standards and enrich programming

  • Keep our doors open to serve families in the Morongo Basin for years to come

These changes allow us to focus on what matters most — creating a safe, fun, and supportive space for every child who walks through our doors.

  • Capacity: 60 spots for afternoon care, 40 spots for morning care

  • Annual Membership Fee: $25 (covers the school year)

  • Monthly Fee PM Care: $100 per child

  • Optional AM Care: Additional $25/month (available only with afternoon enrollment)

How It Works

  1. Fill out the pre‑registration form (below).

  2. We’ll review interest and determine available spots.

  3. Invitations to complete registration and payment will go out next week.

  4. If spots fill, we’ll start a waitlist and keep families informed.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Does pre‑registration guarantee my child a spot?

No. Pre‑registration lets us know you are interested. Because space is limited (60 PM spots and 40 AM add‑on spots), spots will be offered based on availability and priority.

2. How will you decide who gets a spot?

Priority will be given to:

  • Returning members in good standing

  • Siblings of currently enrolled members

  • If more families pre‑register than spots available, we will use a lottery system to ensure fairness.

3. When will I know if my child has a spot?

We will contact all families who pre‑register during the week of August 4th. If offered a spot, you’ll receive instructions on how to complete registration and submit payment. Waitlisted families will also be notified.

4. What is the cost of the program?

  • Annual Membership Fee: $25 (covers the school year)

  • Afternoon Program: $100 per child, per month

  • Morning Care Add‑On: Additional $25 per month (available only with afternoon enrollment)

5. Can I sign up for morning care only?

No. Morning care is only available as an add‑on for children enrolled in the afternoon program.

6. When does the program start?

  • Morning Care: 6–9 AM

  • Afternoon Program: 2–6 PM

7. Are scholarships available?

No. At this time, scholarships or sliding‑scale fees are not available.

8. What happens if my child is waitlisted?

If spots open during the school year, we will contact families on the waitlist in order of the lottery process and priority guidelines.
